Despite preferring a warm bath just like Noa had prepared for herself, Revital decided to get into the lavish glass shower. She looked at the golden faucet and delighted over the bathroom’s extravagant décor. ‘Everything’s so fancy here,’ she thought. ‘The Cormette family must be very rich and well-known. They’re in the wine business so I guess they make a fortune, as well as a lot of contacts with influencers. After all, Tom kept talking about the party tonight and all the important people attending it.’ She got out of the shower and saw Noa in her beautiful new evening gown.

“See, I told you it was a good idea to stop at the designer store,” Noa said as she looked in the mirror.

“You were right, good thing we bought a few things in Milan.”

“A few gorgeous things, that is…” Noa said and stroked the long blue satin dress she was wearing.

Revital smiled at her. “You look perfect.”

“Thank you. Tonight is super important to me. I want Tom’s eyes to be on me and me alone. I want it to be an unforgettable night, a fairy-tale.”

“I’m sure it will,” Revital said, delighted by her friend’s innocence. She took out her pearl-hued dress from the closet and put it on. The dress slid over her body and wrapped around her as she checked herself in the mirror.

“You look like a princess,” Noa said.

“You chose it for me,” Revital said and tightened the dress’s bodice to her waist.

“That’s right,” Noa said and stood behind her, lacing up the silk ribbons up Revital’s back. “Done,” she said and slid her hands over Revital’s exposed shoulders, “you’re good to go. And now for the makeup,” she added and found the bag with all the new cosmetics they bought. Revital felt that they were putting way too much makeup on, but Noa disagreed and reminded her that Tom said it was going to be one hell of a party.

“Doesn’t it look a bit exaggerated?” Revital asked as she looked at herself in the mirror. With the smoky eyeshadow and the blush she felt strange.

“No such thing as exaggerated,” Noa said dismissively, “we’re in Italy, at a mansion, for God’s sake.”

The two laughed and relaxed as though they were floating through clouds. Suddenly, they heard a knock on the door.

“I’ll get it this time,” Noa said and walked over to the door.

An attendant came in holding a tray with a bottle of wine and two glasses. “Courtesy of Signora Cormette. This is our dessert wine, you will love it, it is very sweet,” he said proudly. “They are expecting you downstairs once you are ready,” he added as he poured the wine into the glasses and left.

Noa grabbed the glasses and handed one to Revital, and the two clinked their glasses and toasted. The sounds of cars were heard outside. A line of luxury vehicles was slowly coming up the drive. They watched from the balcony, sipping the wine and admiring the sight. There were Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Alfa Romeos and a Maserati.
